The conflict between Israel and Iran has rapidly escalated since Israel launched a series of air strikes against key Iranian targets.

President Donald Trump will depart the G7 summit Monday evening, cutting short his planned time in Canada due to developments in the Middle East and warning that residents of Iran’s capital should evacuate immediately.

President Trump’s early departure comes after a White House official said he had decided not to sign onto a G7 statement about Israel and Iran. In the end, he did sign it.
